LDC LDC noun [countable] ECONOMICS
less-developed country; a poor country whose economy is developing slowly and less successfully than most other countries:

• billions of dollars of LDC loans

• the problem of LDC debts

• Many of the LDCs are important producers of raw materials.

   Lesser (or less) developed country. A term that was used to describe developing countries where the economy was primarily based on agriculture and industry contributed less than 10 percent of GDP. LDC has been replaced by the more widely defined term emerging markets.
